Conclusion of a Specialized Banking Seminar

A specialized banking seminar entitled International Banking Crisis was held at the Institute of Banking Studies from 5/7-7/7/2009, and was attended by trainees from various Jordanian banks and financial institutions.

 

This seminar was held in cooperation with Progressive Banking Solutions / Ireland and focused on the main causes which could lead to international financial crises especially in the banking sector, the reasons behind the bankruptcy of the biggest international companies, and the causes of the World Financial Crisis as well as the role of the banks in preventing such crises and how to manage them in case they occur. The seminar's lecturer also selected some countries including Jordan to review the procedures used by the governments of these countries to control banks during the current World Financial Crisis. The final part of the seminar was devoted to provide the participants with a summary of the procedures, policies, regulations, and organizational requirements which could be implemented in the future to avoid the repetition of such crises and to reduce their impact when they occur.

 

At the end of the seminar, the Institute's management thanked Progressive Banking Solutions and the seminar's lecturer for their efforts to make this specialized seminar a successful one similar to the other seminars held by the Institute in cooperation with the leading international training institutes and financial and banking institutions.

 

Then the participants were granted their certificates and they were thanked for their attendance and for the role of their institutions in supporting the training activities of the Institute.
